It is a job that can be challenging because she has to work with a White House president who is also his director of communications. There are also multiple legal proceedings that could disrupt the administration's strategy for communication, and a number of Cabinet secretaries are caught up in their personal controversies. Schlapp never wavered from her focus, and was closely involved to work closely with White House policy and political teams. In the beginning, she has concentrated on school safety problems, addiction issues, infrastructure, and trade. Schlapp's current job doesn't involve many interactions with reporters. But, back in March, she was mentioned as a candidate who would replace Hope Hicks at the Communications Director job. It hasn't been an easy fight. Schlapp's allies started fighting Tony Sayegh in the press. Schlapp said to that the Washington Examiner that she spoke with Sayegh about an article that had been published in the past concerning him.
